This mobile application ("Application") allows you to scan your lottery tickets, check draw results and discover information about British Columbia Lottery Corporation (“BCLC”) products. This Privacy Notice applies only to this Application. Other privacy notices and policies apply to their respective mobile applications and websites.
BCLC does not collect any personal information from you when you use this Application. By proceeding to use the Application you consent to BCLC collecting the following information for the purposes described below:
- Information about scanned lottery tickets, e.g. date and time of scan, ticket control number, ticket result – win or lose, and type of product played. This is used for analytics purposes and may be used as supplemental information during the ticket validation process. In order to scan your lottery ticket, you will need to allow the Application to access the camera. We do not capture or store any images.
- Aggregated or non-personally identifying information about Application usage, including when the Application was opened, time spent on the Application, total number of installations, and crash reports. This information is used to better understand Application usage and help us improve the Application. We use tools such as Google Analytics, Crashlytics and App Analytics.
- We use technologies, such as cookies, to customize content and advertising, to provide social media features and to analyze traffic to the Application. We also share information about your use of our Application with our trusted social media, advertising and analytics partners, including Facebook.
BCLC collects this information and links it to a randomly generated identifier (iOS IDFV or Google GUID) that is linked to your device and is unique to each application publisher. This helps us to determine when the Application is installed on different devices. It does not identify you as an individual or your device. The settings you have selected for the Application (such as camera permission and sound) are locally stored on your device.
BCLC may modify this Privacy Notice at any time. Any changes BCLC may make to this Privacy Notice in the future will be posted on this Application. Please check back frequently to see any updates or changes to this Privacy Notice. Your continued use of the Application will confirm your acceptance of the Privacy Notice in force at the time you use the Application.
